EcoVadis Silver Medal awarded to Sievi

Sievi was recently awarded the prestigious EcoVadis silver medal for the first time. EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability assessor that evaluates companies in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. More than 125,000 companies across the world have been evaluated by EcoVadis, and the silver medal puts Sievi in the top 15 per cent of companies assessed in the past 12 months.

The EcoVadis assessment covers 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: the environment, labour & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The silver medal is a significant recognition of Sievi’s commitment to responsible and sustainable business.

Oona Sikkilä, Sievi’s Quality and Sustainability Manager, on the award: “We’re very happy and proud of this achievement. The silver medal confirms that we’re on the right track in terms of responsibility, but it doesn’t mean that our job is done – we’ll use the EcoVadis assessment to help further develop our operations. We want to make sure that sustainability remains a key part of our business.”

EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidenced-based analysis of performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
